Morgan Schneiderlin is still expected to join Man Utd from Southampton and could join The Reds on their US tour.

Manchester United are confident of signing Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin before their first pre-season tour match.

United had a £20m bid rejected for Schneiderlin last month and although they are yet to lodge a second bid The Reds have reopened negotiations.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman admitted earlier this week France international Schneiderlin could leave if United meet The Saints' valuation of the player.

Koeman dismissed United's offer as 'not serious' but despite a lack of activity in recent weeks United are determined to sign the 25-year-old, who was desperate to leave St Mary's last season.

United play Club America in Seattle a week on Friday in the first of their four pre-season matches in the United States and it is possible Schneiderlin could feature.

United prioritised Schneiderlin as their preferred midfield signing some time ago and his arrival could all but complete the club's midfield overhaul.
